Pastor Clyde & Kristi

Hello Friends, I’m Clyde Hames, Pastor of “The Refinery”.

I accepted Christ as my savior at age 12, preached my first revival at age 14, and have been preaching ever since.  I have also worked in the private sector as a contractor and a sales representative, so I understand the pressures of life that you deal with on a daily basis.

I was married for 38 years 11 months and 5 days to my wife, Gladys.  Gladys passed away March 21, 2005 of early onset Alzheimer’s.  I have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren.

I moved to Brantley County in August 2006.  On February 16, 2008, I married Kristi Hutchison and became the step-dad to three wonderful boys.

June 2011 Kristi and I along with a small group of people have started a new church called “The Refinery”.  Why the name “The Refinery”?  “Refine” means to reduce to a pure state, to free from moral imperfection, to improve or perfect by pruning or polishing, to free from what is coarse, vulgar, or uncouth.  A “refinery” is a building and equipment for refining, like sugar, to make pure and sweet. At “The Refinery” Jesus is our refiner!  Jesus will refine our lives making us clean and pure just like him!
